About the Nassau
BOCES Educational Foundation
2008 Grant Application
If you are interested
in applying for a grant through the Foundation, please follow this
rubric as a guide to the types of ideas the Foundation Board is
interested in funding.
| Grant proposals
should incorporate the following: |
| A. |
They should embody a
unique concept. |
| B. |
They should
incorporate the best research in teaching and learning. |
| C. |
The goal the grant
is attempting to accomplish should be highly replicable
with the
potential to serve many students. |
| D. |

should be outside the normal operating budget. |
How will grants be
awarded?
Grants will be reviewed
by a sub-committee of the Board of Directors of the Nassau BOCES
Educational Foundation. They will reach consensus as to which grants
should be funded and
make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The
Board of Directors will then pass their recommendations on to the BOCES
Board of Education who will accept or reject the grant. If the BOCES
Board accepts the grant, a special budget will be set up in the general
fund from which the grant will be operated and expenses disbursed.
