Project: "EarthCaching"
Searching for the first EarthCache We had a terrific time on a hayride onour t rip to the Old Bethpage Resotration Village. Allan and Iveliss modeled Native American clothing at a presentation during our schoolwide Early American Life theme. Here we are sitting in front of Pirate Jack, our class entry in the school pumpkin decorating contest.
Teachers were given basic instruction in using a handheld GPS unit. Teachers enter latitude and longtitude coordinates into their units before searching for their first EarthCache. Program Specialist Mary Miller, South Huntington teacher, Suzanne Ciccarelli and Nassau BOCES LIHSA teacher, Marie Pollizzi, check their units before hiking out. On the beach on a very cold day to find.
